God is My Source - Trusting God in a Failing Economy

Updated on August 17, 2014

Who is your provider?

The Job Market Crash! Who has it affected? Are you about to panic not knowing where you're next dollar will come from to meet your family expenses?

How am I to believe God is my source and provider when life looks like this:

Your boss just called you into the office and said they were letting you go due to "cut backs." The company where you worked has decided to curb hours to only 29 a week for all employees, because they can't afford to pay the insurance any more. The unemployment agency program hasn't been able to find your paperwork, so you'll have to wait another week for money. Today you went on another interview just to find out they hired the person right before you.

Does any of this ring true in your life?

In an economy that seems to be failing, where do we turn for answers? How can I possibly keep a positive attitude when all this is happening? Who can help me and how will I trust anyone any more?

His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus."

Poll: Who is your source?

Who is the source of your income?

You Need to Believe - He is Your Jehovah Jireh - God is your source for "resources."

God Really is the Source for All Things

Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:19

"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing) Jesus."

There is a sign we hung in our church and in our home that reads, "God is my Source." It is a reminder for us to remember that our jobs provide an income, but the source (power to get wealth/money) still comes from God.

Understanding that God is your source and supplier of all your needs will open opportunities for the better job, increase of pay and abundance of all good things. God is our source, not man or our job. People change and so do our jobs, but God the supplier never does.

No matter where you work or get your seed (money) from, remember that God made it possible for it to be given to you. Give Him thanks and praise for the new seed that is about to come in this year. This is only a "season" in your life, and as we know, seasons are temporary. A new season will begin, so get ready for it. Ask God what you need to do to be prepared for the new things He is about to bring into your life. He will help you prepare for what is ahead.

Preparing for the Rain

We have to do our part. Preparing means we believe something is going to happen. Preparing is living in expectation.

I remember watching a Christian film called "Facing the Giants" where one of the characters told the head coach he needed to "prepare for rain." What does that mean? It means that we need to prepare for the rain before it comes, so when it does we can reap all the benefits it has to offer.

If you are waiting for a new job opening or need more income, take advantage of this dry season by getting ready for the rain that will come. Keep in mind that God is the one who supplies the rain. He is the source of it and knows when the best time will be for your "due season."

God wants you to understand that He will provide for you if you trust Him. If you continue to put your trust in your job, your boss or man, you better be prepared for it to fail you at some point. Why is that? Because man cannot be a source of something that is of Jehovah Jireh.

It's time to prepare for rain. It's time to believe that God will supply your NEED. He never promises He will supply all your wants or "toys" (even though He may give them to you). God will give you what you need, when you need it according to the way you believe. So if things aren't working out exactly right, count on 2 things. One: It is God ordained so that you will come to rely on Him as your source. Or two: Your season will last as long as you will it, according to your belief, your faith in Him (says the Lord Jesus in Matthew 9:29 NET).

What's it going to be? Let's get to singing and shouting that Jehovah Jireh is our provider, and His grace is sufficient for all our needs. God loves you and knows what you are experiencing. He wants you to believe that He will provide for you. It's time to believe God is our source and that due season is about to take place in your life. Rain is on it's way. Have you prepared?

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9 NKJV)

Are you in fellowship with God

Pray to Jesus right now by repeating this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,I am sorry for my sins and for not believing in You as the One and only true God. I now want to make things right with You. Please come into my heart and save me. Forgive me of all my sins and make me clean.

I do believe that You died on the cross to save me from hell, and that You rose from the dead and are now in Heaven.

With all my heart I will follow you and be obedient to Your Word, and will fellowship with other believers. Thank you for saving me today.

In Your name I pray, Amen.

Have you prayed that prayer? If so, please let us know so we can rejoice with you. Click on the photo for privacy to leave your comment on my bio page.
